Our new snap-front pocket dress is made with an average of 4-5 yards (depending on your size) of soft and silky bamboo jersey in each dress. Thats a lot of fabric! But the perfect amount of lightweight, springy goodness to give this dress the ultimate swing, drape, and coverage that every dress deserves.

As mentioned, this dress is built primarily with bamboo and cotton jersey—but it also utilizes fabric remnants I’ve been saving from other designs in an attempt to reduce my environmental impact in the form of fabric waste. The side panels of the bodice are made from a triangle patterned jacquard fabric (a raised pattern that is woven, instead of printed, into the fabric itself) that was used in a sweater I no longer make. These pieces were too small to use, but I knew I couldn’t throw them away. The edging detail along the collar and arm-wells was saved from a custom commissioned sweater. Or maybe it was a custom scarf? I have been holding onto it for so long I don’t remember! I just knew the black and brown stripes needed to live on and this dress was the perfect candidate.

The cut of this dress is intended to be loose and flowy. The fabric itself is incredibly stretchy for an easy fit. A simple and adjustable belt is included for a more fitted look, but it is completely detachable so that you can wear it without…or with a different belt completely. The back features a simple razorback cut, and the cinched waistline is both stretchy and flattering.

Silver circular snaps are built into this dress down the side for easy adjusting of the skirt slit at the bottom. The plaid fabric mentioned before is used as the underlying snap placard for a subtle pop of contrast.

And of course POCKETS. These are the biggest pockets I believe I’ve ever designed. The world needs more pockets.
