Upcycled/redesigned/reworked from a Van Heusen dress shirt that features navy and grey vertical stripes on a plum purple background. Originally sized as a men’s large slim-fit.

Inspired by early frontier fashion and Little House on the Prairie—this shirt was restyled to feature a super cute ruffle bib yoke and cute balloon sleeves that tie above the elbow. These ties are adjustable and can be worn loosened as straight sleeves if you don’t want a cinched hem at the bottom. The front yoke ruffle is made from grey, navy, & maroon plaid. This same plaid decorates the bottom trim of each sleeve as well as an angular accent along the sleeve sides.

The chest pocket was moved to the bottom, front of the blouse because we always need a pocket! The original pointed collar has been reworked to a cutie mini peter-pan collar and front tie. The torso length is cropped to fit a little below the waist for a drape that’s especially perfect for warm summer days—its bottom secured with binding that matches the front collar and sleeve accents.

The boxy cut of this blouse offers a flattering, modern silhouette that elongates the legs and highlights the waist. Its loose "boxy" fit eliminates the need to tuck in fabric, providing breathability, freedom of movement, and all-day comfort without clinging to the body.

By ending at the natural waist, it pairs perfectly with high-rise bottoms to create the illusion of longer legs and a balanced frame. Pair it with high-waisted jeans/shorts, tailored trousers, or maxi skirts—or layer it over a sleek bodysuit or fitted camisole for dimension and a fun layered texture.
