Upcycled/redesigned/reworked from a Neil Alley tuxedo shirt in solid black with a classic pleated bib and starched pointed collar. Originally sized as a men’s XS 30/31.

Restyled as a goth, punk, new wave, street noir dream—I had a lot of fun with this blouse! Two pockets have been added to the front—made from parts of the original bib front with the pleats horizontal for texture and contrast. Both pockets can be secured closed with functional straps and brass D-rings. The bottom of each pocket also has a D-ring if you have anything you’d like to clip to them. A dramatic ivory/black ruffle accent extends from the front chest and along the back of the collar, to wrap around the front. More D-rings are tucked inside the ruffle folds for extra nuance and detail.

Its little cap sleeves are made from the bottom cuffs of the tuxedo shirt, and the torso length has been shortened with cute ruffles along the bottom/back of the shirt. The hem has been finished with matching binding made from the long sleeves of the original design.

The boxy cut of this blouse offers a flattering, modern silhouette that elongates the legs and highlights the waist. Its loose "boxy" fit eliminates the need to tuck in fabric, providing breathability, freedom of movement, and all-day comfort without clinging to the body.

By ending at the natural waist, it pairs perfectly with high-rise bottoms to create the illusion of longer legs and a balanced frame. Pair it with high-waisted jeans/shorts, tailored trousers, or maxi skirts—or layer it over a sleek bodysuit or fitted camisole for dimension and a fun layered texture.
