Design your own Margot Dress

About this dress:

• This dress is based on a gorgeous retro-inspired pattern created by AllisPatterns--if you are a fellow seamstress find her shop here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/AllisPatterns

• For this dress I used her Margot Dress pattern (https://www.etsy.com/listing/1585889881/the-margot-dress-and-blouse-vintage-pdf) with a few added adjustments such as the quilt-block paneling along the skirt hem as well as at the top of the shoulders. Her pattern also uses a zipper at the side, but I love the comfort and clean line of snaps that extend along the torso--this also allows you to keep some of the snaps open at the bottom for a skirt slit if you’d like.

• This dress is made with 3-4 different fabrics. They can be all solid colors, all patterned fabrics, or a combination of both. Fabric 1 will be the dominant fabric. Fabric 2 is the accent fabric that binds the pockets and is used for the angular accents at the shoulders. Fabrics 3&4 are what the quilt blocks of the bottom hem are made of. If you don’t want these blocks to alternate in color, liked pictured in the examples, I can just use one fabric for the entire hem accent.

• Find my sizing chart here: www.sewmoe.com/sizing and feel free to opt for custom sizing if you don't see your size listed. Please note that this dress is not stretchy so your bust and waist measurements are particularly important. Please don't hesitate to reach out via email if you are having a hard time choosing a size.

• Choose your length. Pictured here in midi/calf length, also available in a shorter knee length and a longer ankle length. Or opt to provide your own length! (Measured from the waistband to bottom hem of the skirt)
